Does Knead & Nourish have a retail location? If so, what are your hours?

Knead & Nourish is a home based bakery located in San Francisco. Inquiries/orders are taken on Monday - Sunday from 9am to 6pm. Please contact me via or via my contact page.

When should I place my order?

To ensure freshness and quality, as soon as possible! A month before the event date is recommended for one-tiered cakes and three months before the event date is recommended for large tiered cakes.

I have a last minute order! Can you accommodate me?

In order to provide customers with quality cakes, a limited amount of orders are taken per week. However, if you do have a last minute order please feel free to reach out and I will do my best to accommodate you if there is an opening.

Can you recreate a cake from a picture I provide?

I am happy to use your image as inspiration, however each cake is unique with Knead & Nourish's own artistic flair and will not be 100% alike. Knead & Nourish does not work with fondant and cannot make replica or themed cakes with characters. 

Do you offer cupcakes?

Cupcakes are only offered occasionally for holiday specials or tasting boxes.

Are gluten-free items available?

Gluten-free, vegan, or sugar free items are currently not offered.

How much will my cake order cost?

All cakes are made from scratch with fresh ingredients and take hours of planning, designing, prep, baking, and decorating. Please keep in mind the prices below reflect the usage of supplies, ingredients and hours of labor that go into each cake.

As a general guide, starting prices for cakes are:

6 inch (approx. 20 serves) from $105
8 inch (approx. 30 serves) from $160
10 inch (approx. 40 serves) from $215
*two-tiered cakes start from $300

Note: Starting prices are for a vanilla cake/vanilla buttercream flavor combination and does not include any decorations.

Is a deposit required for my order?

Orders are NOT on the Knead & Nourish cake calendar until full payment or non-refundable 50% deposit has been recieved.

  • All cakes under $350: full payment must be received in order to confirm and secure your order

  • All cakes over $350: a non-refundable 50% deposit is required to confirm and secure your order with the balance due 14 days prior to the collection of your cake

What if I want to make a change to my order?

Please try to keep all changes prior to two weeks of the collection of your cake. You will be notified of any price difference regarding the changes before they are confirmed.

What if I would like to cancel my order?

Because limited orders are taken per week, please provide notice of cancellation as soon as possible.

  • All cakes under $350: full payment is non-refundable if you cancel your order within 7 days of pick-up or collection

  • All cakes over $350: final balance is non-refundable if you cancel your order within 14 days of pick-up or collection (note the 50% deposit required to confirm and secure your order is non-refundable at any point of cancellation)

What are your payment options?

Cash, check or online via Paypal.

Are fresh flowers food safe?

Fresh flowers used on every cake are first cleaned, wrapped in floral tape and inserted with a toothpick so that they are not in direct contact with the cake. All flowers must be removed before the cake is cut.

Do you provide cake tastings?

Knead & Nourish is a small operation with time focused on perfecting each custom cake. Occasionally tasting boxes will be offered with limited consultations. To see when the next tasting boxes will be available for pick up, head over to the tasting box page.

Are cakes pick-up only or is delivery available?

Delivery is subject to availability and calculated based on total distance for round trips.

How should I transport my cake?

Cakes are best transported with the box flat on the floor of your car and not on your car seat.

What happens if I pick up my cake and it breaks during transit?

Great care is taken in preparing every cake to make sure they are internally supported, sturdy, and boxed neatly for travel. Knead & Nourish cannot accept responsibility for any breakages or damages to your order after it has been collected.
